At the risk of being accused of promoting that old "victim vibe" about the web-cam industry, I must share the following terrible story with you all that was told by one of the Top Bucharest Models on MFC in her open room this afternoon to an audience of 133 members and guests. This is the worst of the stalker stories that I have heard that's linked to the MFC web-site, but not the only one.. At least two of our model members have been recorded this summer, and then threatened with being exposed to their family and friends in Bucharest by some unknown person who had their yahoo ids...The same thing happened to one of our Slovak members who also worked on MFC. So how did the stalkers get their personal information, if not from the models' studios or the web-site's files?

I think that there's a common M.O. used by the stalkers (or stalker?), involved in all these incidents, but one that only works in the context of lax web-site security on MFC.. and systematic deception by an industry that promises to protect the identities and anonymity of its models, and then carelessly fails to make good on its guarantees of security...

This what I posted in the public area in reply to another idiotic post by our pirate member, HeyYou.. But forget about him. Please focus instead on this model's story and her powerful testimony.

I just heard one of the top Romanian models on MFC tell the story of how a stalker hacked her personal files and pictures from the site's archive and sent them to her family a week ago... She has been exposed as a "cam whore" in her hometown and disinherited by her parents..

As she said this morning: "I am sick of this [industry]. What I considered a job has become a nightmare. My life is just about ruined... I have lost my trust in nearly everyone...90% of my problems happen because of men...."

The list of guilty parties should include her studio admins who lied to her about her anonymity online and the web-site whose lax security allowed a member to download her personal info and pictures, as well as the "sick lone wolf" you used them to carry out an act of sexual harassment and personal vengeance. But certainly it can be extended to assholes like the pirate members of this forum who think that they can play recklessly with people's lives....and post video links without any concern for the potential consequences.. As the model Jxxxx can testify, the consequences are all too real.

I am going to keep my reply to this as brief as possible.

The victim vibe.... I have been writing about how people do get hurt by this or from this industry for years now. Uncle has provided another example of yet more of the same.

You all find this work an acceptable way to earn a living yet you all seem to look or turn away from the obvious.

When will it stop? Never,huh.

People do get hurt once again. I have seen it time and time again.

This sickens me. Members and models alike getting used and hurt for what? For porn!!!
For a fantasy?
We are all guilty in some way. All of us. When are you going to stare the truth of what ails you and all the shortcomings that make this "industry" just an extension of what has gone awry?

I wish this model all the best and hope things work out. But I doubt anything will change as long as the people that live, in this case,Romania, change the status quo so to speak.

A society that believes in materialistic, self centered and selfish needs will continue to fail itself. Providing a service based upon the greed and immoral needs of others says alot about each of the participants involved.

What a sad epitaph for some, isn't it?

Now I am going to add some more information in this restricted area.

Uncle, you may remove it if you wish or leave it,but I suggest you at least send it to the model in question that was recently outed.

As some of you may or may not know I was banned by MFC almost a year ago. Why you may ask yourselves?

I was a lowly simple registered member on MFC at that time. I knew of this model in question but had never really spoke intimately with her. I was in her chat room on MFC, and it was at a time, when she realized she had an interesting personality to those premiums that found her fun to be with.

I spoke up and forewarned her and those in the room about certain things that I knew about and noticed about MFC and its community there. But I was attacked, chastised by the premiums and then banned from the site. Yes, I was in this models room and I do not know who banned me(Leo,or the model or whomever). But the point is at that time I was attempting to bring to her attention to be careful, but it fell on deaf ears.

Now, unfortunately something tragic has occurred and I hope all will work out for her in her life.

Somewhere lost on this forum, I mentioned it here, when we discussed the tips for shows in free chat had begun and the group show feature had been implemented. I mentioned how premiums would attack others for having an opposing view to the fun and games people play there and elsewhere.

I tried to search for that thread but I presume it has either been removed or lost when the admins here rearranged things a few months ago.

Now back to the present. I think it is time to force the hand of MFC and other sites to either stop using these women at the expense of greed and carelessness. How many more people are going to get hurt or abused by others? You speak of harm reduction...I believe it is quite obvious what needs to be done.

I think it is time to bring some type of legal action against these sites. I would suggest to this model that she might have a good case for that. For just one person to get hurt is one too many, don't you think?

To force these websites to make this work secure and safe for those that wish to work on them. To enforce copyright laws to protect innocent people that do work on their sites. To aggressively stop pirating, because if it is not curtailed they will lose more money than any global recession ever will affect their bottom line.

And most importantly, the human factor. How many more times do we need to read something like this to occur before you stand up and say enough? Never should it happen to anyone.

Isn't it time to be more constructive than destructive?

Hear, Hear... Well said Trainer..

Especially in view of the fact that this is the very same model who inspired the MFC petition against the Free Shows in Chat, and the Miss MFC competition - and who was suspended for a few weeks by the web-site for her efforts to defend the working conditions of herself and her co-workers....

She was one of the few models who was ready to take on the MFC management, and now this happens to her.. Hmmmmm. The more I learn about Leo, the MFC Admin, the curiouser this whole situation becomes....

Yes, very well said, Trainer. And thank you.

I think both you and UL are right: the focus has been on the wrong place. We have aimed our scorn...and our verbal attack...at the people who share videos and toy with peoples' lives without a shred of conscience.

And the real culprits are the web-pimps and webmasters who allow this to continue...who not just fail, but turn a blind eye to violations of their own "rules" (for profit, I am sure)...who refuse to implement security measures that could protect models...who willingly mislead or suppress facts about risk.

And worse, maybe complicit in the trafficking of these videos, or worse.

And of course, as Trainer points out...there is the rest of us, who used to...or many still do...support this industry and perpetuate it, from the inside (models) or outside (members).

So one fight at a time: Forget pirates; we can inform models of risk, that is still the decent thing to do. But railing about and against pirates is pissing in the wind...about that, the pirates are right. I don't have the answers, but we can start a dialog on how to confront people like Leo who facilitated this tragedy on this girl.
